Zooplancton
Se han identificado 18 g‚neros del zooplancton
tanto en el sector peruano como en el boliviano. Los rot¡feros presentan
9 g‚neros, los branqui¢podos 5 y los cop‚podos solamente 4, en el sector
peruano. En el boliviano los rot¡feros presentan 8 g‚neros, los branqui¢podos
6 y los cop‚podos 4.

En general, Keratella quadrata y K.
americana, en Per£, y Keratella americana, en Bolivia, son
dominantes en todas las estaciones y presentan una mayor proporci¢n respecto
a los otros g‚neros y especies.
De acuerdo a las evaluaciones realizadas,
se ha podido definir que en este crucero las estaciones 12 y 13 y las
16 y 21 presentan una mayor abundancia, en tanto que las estaciones 4
y 23 son las que presentan menor abundancia.
Bosmina huaronensis, dentro del grupo
de los branqui¢podos, presenta en Per£ una abundancia interesante, por
cuanto los branqui¢podos constituyen un buen alimento de los peces; en
las estaciones 3, 7 y de la 10 hasta la 15 es dominante. En Bolivia est
presente por encima del 50 % en todas las estaciones, excepto en la estaci¢n
24. En las estaciones 16, 18 y 19 es dominante.
Entre los cop‚podos, en Per£ Metacyclops
leptopus es mas abundante que los calanoideos Boeckella titicacae
y B. Occidentalis. En Bolivia, Metacyclops leptopus conjuntamente
con Boeckella titicacae presentan las mayores abundancias.

En el sector boliviano se puede apreciar
una mayor cantidad de g‚neros, siendo la estaci¢n 22 la que presenta la
mayor cantidad, en tanto que las estaciones 18, 19 y 24 presentan las
mas bajas. Las clorofitas presentan una dominancia respecto a las cianofitas
y pirrofitas en todas las estaciones. El fitoplancton del sector peruano est compuesto por una diversidad
de algas relativamente baja.

En el sector boliviano existe una dominancia
de las siguientes clorofitas: Mougeotia, principalmente, seguida de lejos
por Fragilaria y Staurastrum en la mayor¡a de las estaciones
de muestreo en el lago.
Otra clorofita, Ulothrix, es la que sigue en abundancia.
Gomphosphaeria es una cianofita que est presente en la mayor¡a
de las estaciones en porcentajes moderados. Nostoc y Nodular¡a
son abundantes en las primeras cuatro estaciones, 16, 17, 18 y 19, y Chrooccocus
est presente en las estaciones 22 a 26 en porcentajes mayores.
El grupo dominante en el sector peruano del lago Titicaca,
en esta ‚poca, son las clorofitas, seguidas de las cianofitas.
El mayor n£mero de g‚neros est presente en la estaci¢n 2, en
tanto que las estaciones con menor n£mero de g‚neros son las 3, 4, 7,
14 y 15.
Existe una dominancia de las siguientes clorofitas: Fraginaria
sp., Staurastrum y Mougeotia sp. en la mayor¡a
de las estaciones de muestreo.
En la estaci¢n 4, Mougetia sp. presenta pocos individuos,
sin embargo, Hyalotheca sp. est presente con un porcentaje mayor.
Peridinium sp. est bien representada en la estaci¢n 5.
En las estaciones 6 y 11, aparte de la presencia de los tres
g‚neros dominantes, tambi‚n est presente Pseudoanabaena sp. con
un buen porcentaje, lo propio sucede con Gomphosphaeria sp. En
la estaci¢n 10 se presentan los mayores porcentajes de Navicula sp.,
alrededor del 50 %, mientras que en la 12 su porcentaje decrece.
En general para todo el Lago, los
g‚neros del grupo de las clorofitas (Pediastrum)
y de las cianofitas (Chrooccocus y
Anabaena.) est n presentes en ambientes eutr¢ficos y toleran
contaminaci¢n org nica y por metales pesados.
